There will be no out of class assignments. Instead, there will be information provided to help instructors bring a masonry unit into the classroom and we will use those materials during the 2 day course to help prepare the instructor to teach them in the classroom.

• Will design a brick pier planter, with measurements, and build that project to specifications.
• Skills evaluation form – criteria used to evaluate student as they are laying up a wall (we will use this form several times throughout the course when evaluating the instructors’ skill). This form will evaluate proper hand movement, mortar joint sizes, level, plumb and other criteria an instructor should observe when evaluating someone in the classroom setting
• Each participant will demonstrate how they explain spreading mortar and laying to a line as well as how they grade masonry projects to the rest of the class. 
• Brick Masonry Quiz (multiple choice quiz that will be provided to the instructor to use – there will be several other quizzes available).
