This course is designed for paraeducators supporting Statewide Voluntary Preschool Programs and seeking the Early Childhood Paraeducator Certificate
This course will focus on the important role that para educators play in creating and enhancing the environment of an early childhood classroom in order to understand and promote the development of young children according to the Iowa Early Learning Standards. Participants will develop an understanding of ethical and professional relationships and practices according to program standards.

Reflections based on reading and videos
Introduction to the Iowa Early Learning Standards
Choose two children in class and describe individual differences and how you would differentiate learning for each child
Review the Iowa Department of Education''s Preschool Program Standards
Compare the recommended areas and materials to the classroom you work in with
this
resource and provide a reflection
Link your district handbook and note the pages where a list of community resources and agencies can be found.
